Power switch ICs for 3-V notebook computers
The AV9304 single-chip power management switch for 3-V notebook computers
replaces 29 discrete components. The device contains four MOSFET
transistors, latches, and logic circuits. Each output MOSFET has a typical
on-resistance of 0.25 ohms and is capable of handling 500 mA. Another 3-V
device, the AV9312, has two switches–each with an on-resistance of 0.15
ohms. The outputs of both chips can be connected in parallel to handle
currents greater than 500 mA. 5-V versions of the devices–the AV9504 and
AV9512–have also been announced. The AV9304/9312 come in 16- and 14-pin
