Bourns, Inc. has expanded its flyback power transformer line with the launch of the Bourns Model SM13117EL device. Designed to support IEEE 802.3 af-compliant, integrated Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) powered device (PD), and pulse width modulation (PWM) controller applications, the new flyback power transformer provides DC/DC power conversion in isolated mode.

The low-profile, small-form-factor PoE flyback transformer features low leakage inductance and excellent EMI performance. Key specifications include 13 watts of output power, 36 to 72 VDC/250-kHz input, 12 VDC/1.08-amp output, and 1.5k Vrms withstanding voltage. It offers an extended -40°C to 125°C operating temperature range.
