Mill-Max Manufacturing Corp., Inc. has released a new pre-wired spring-loaded connector . This two-position header with crimp-terminated wires combines spring-loaded pogo pins with a 12-in. pigtail. This connector is suited for a variety of applications, including battery charging, low power delivery, and quick-connect uses.
The 867-22-002-70-501010 cable assembly is a value-added solution for technicians who need a wired connection in an electrical assembly. This pre-wired connector system eliminates some of the challenges associated with crimping wires to a connector, such as crimp-and-poke connectors that can be labor-intensive to use. The open-end wire offers flexible termination options such as soldering, crimping, splicing, or connecting to a terminal block.
The connector features precision-machined and gold-plated spring pins on .100-in. (2.54-mm) centers, each with a maximum stroke of .055 in. (1.4 mm). The connector housing is molded from high-temperature thermoplastic.
The two-wire pigtail is made from 24-AWG stranded conductors; one red, one black, 12 in. (305 mm) long. The wire meets UL1007 for PVC insulation and 7/32 stranding. Each wire end is stripped to a length of .140 in. (3.56 mm) with a slug to prevent fraying.
The wire retention of the crimp joint is 8 lbs. (3.63 kg) minimum, and there is a positive stop inside the connector, so the pins cannot be dislodged if a pull force is applied to the wires.
The connector can be ordered through the company’s distribution network at the Mill-Max website .
