Processors target high performance vision apps

The ADSP-BF608 and ADSP-BF609 dual-core embedded processors are optimized for vision applications and feature a high performance video analytics VGA or HD accelerator with a set of configurable processing blocks designed to accelerate up to five concurrent image algorithms. These processors are intended for applications such as automotive advanced driver assistance systems, industrial machine vision, and security/surveillance systems.

Each of the 500 MHz cores have 148 Kbytes of L1 SRAM, two 16-bit multipliers, two 40-bit accumulators, two 40-bit ALUs, four video ALUs, and a 40-bit shifter. Both devices have 256 Kbytes of shared L2 SRAM and an external memory controller/memory management unit. Typical power consumption for the BF609 is only 400 mW. They come in a 349-ball BGA package.
