Protected high-side switches come in SOIC
The LTC1477 and LTC1478 are, respectively, single and dual protected high-side
switches in SOIC packages with built-in protection against short-circuit and
thermal overload conditions. The switch resistance is typically 0.07 ohms at 5
V, rising to 0.08 ohms at 3 V. The internal NMOS switch has no parasitic body
diode and therefore no current can flow through the switch when it is turned
off. While off, the quiescent current drops to below 1 microamps. (8-lead
LTC1477, $3.35; 16-lead LTC1478, $5 ea/1,000–available now.)
