PSE controllers deliver up to 90 W

The LTC4266A and LTC4274A, four-port and single-port PoE controllers for power sourcing equipment (PSE), deliver up to 90-W to powered devices (PDs). The devices ensure backward compatibility and interoperability with equipment based on the existing IEEE PoE standard. They suit automatic Type 1 PoE systems.

The PoE controllers suit long range wireless access points (WAP), thin clients and heated surveillance cameras. The controllers offer advanced power management that includes prioritized fast shutdown, 14.5-bits/port voltage and current read back, eight-bit programmable current limits and seven-bit programmable overload current limits. A 1-MHz I2 C interface allows the host controller to configure the IC or to query port readings. Firmware is field upgradable. (Ea/1,000: LTC4266, $5.00; LTC4274, $4.50 – available now.)
