PXI-based RF test platform moves easily from R&D to production
Operating up to 6 GHz, compact user-configurable system can test cellular, RFIC, and general-purpose wireless applications
With high-speed PXI cards, chassis, and software, the 3000 Series provides a complete, compact, configurable, and scalable RF measurement system that aims to surpass rack-and-stack performance and set a new standard for configurable instrumentation.
Designed to work with earlier PXI modules, the system’s new RF cards cover HF, VHF, and UHF bands and include the 6-GHz 3025C digital signal generator and the 3-GHz 3030C and 6-GHz 3035C wideband RF digitizers. The cards can generate/analyze signals with RF bandwidths up to 90 MHz—nearly three times the bandwidth on current models.
The signal-generator module features an output power range of 120 to 7 dBm and can switch frequency at speeds up to 10 times faster than its competition. The digitizer modules transfer data over the PCI bus 80% faster than previous PXI cards.
Completing the package are two PXI chassis, a system controller, and PXI Studio application software. With an extended 0 to 55C range, the extremely quiet (41.6 dBA) 3000 and 3000A chassis have one controller slot and seven peripheral PCI/PXI slots; the 3000A also has a built-in 8.4-in. 800 X 600 color touchscreen display and the 1.8-GHz 3001A controller module, and so can be used for a standalone benchtop or portable instrument.
PXI Studio can simultaneously generate and analyze complex modulated signals, and plug-ins tailor the software for WiMAX OFDMA signals as well as general spectrum analysis. (From $40,000 for 3-GHz and $50,000 for 6-GHz configurationsavailable October.)
