PXI controllers are priced from $1,499

Two low-cost embedded PXI controllers, the PXI-8104 and PXI-8183, are priced starting at $1,499, yet deliver increased performance compared to earlier models.

Based on a 1.86-GHz Celeron M 440 processor with dual-channel 533-MHz DDR2 memory, the 8104 suits PXI and CompactPCI systems, providing a 41% performance improvement compared to the earlier 8195 controller. The two-slot 850-MHz Celeron processor-based 8183 is aimed at high-volume OEM and industrial control applications. Both controllers are available in versions that support LabVIEW Real-Time and LabWindows/CVI Real-Time software. (8104, from $2,999; 8183, from $1,499—available now.)
