PXI test system tackles WLAN 802.11ac

Based on the PXI 3000 Series modular instrumentation platform, the 802.11ac Test Solution is designed to make measurements in a 160 MHz band at operating frequencies to 6 GHz on wireless LAN devices adhering to the IEEE 802.11ac standard. The standard allows data rates up to 10 times higher than those of 802.11n (in three bandwidth variants: 80 MHz, optional non-contiguous 80+80 MHz, and optional 160 MHz contiguous) and introduces optional modulation to 256 QAM and 8-stream MIMO.

In addition to wider bandwidth measurements, the test system offers best-in-class phase noise performance (−135 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz with 20 kHz offset), a simplified programming API, and faster frequency and levelling switching than previously available. The test system comprises the 3070 vector signal analyzer, the 3050/3320 vector signal generator, and the 3005 chassis, with the WLAN 802.11ac Measurement Suite and IQCreator. Typical residual EVM is −42 dB (80 MHz) and −38 dB (160 MHz) for both signal analysis and generation. (Contact Pi Huang for pricing and availability.)
