PXIe digitizers have 5-, 3-GHz BW at 12.5 Gs/s
Said to be the highest-performance PXI digitizers available, the 5-GHz PXIe-5186 and 3-GHz PXIe-5185 digitizers both have sampling rates of 12.5 Gsamples/s. Co-developed by the manufacturer and Tektronix, the units’ high-speed, low-noise, high-linearity signal acquisition capabilities are based on proprietary Tektronix ASICs made using the IBM 7HP SiGe process.
The digitizers’ low integrated jitter of 500-fsrms results in 5.5 effective bits (ENOB) at 5 GHz. Designed for building high-channel-count automated test systems using the 3U PXI Express platform, the modules can stream at rates to 700 Mbytes/s and synchronize channels on multiple modules to within ±80 ps. The digitizers work with LabWindows/CVI ANSI C software development environment and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET development tools, and can be programmed using the NI-SCOPE instrument driver. (5186, from $31,999; 5185, from $21,999 — available now.)
