The LS7082N1 CMOS quandrature clock converter is designed to interface between incremental encoders and counting devices by converting the encoder quadrature outputs into directional up/down clocks or clock and direction signals for driving the counting devices. Features include x1, x2, and x4 mode selection, up to 16-MHz output clock frequency, up/down indicator output, and TTL and CMOS compatible I/Os.

In addition, the part offers on-chip filtering of inputs for optical or magnetic encoder applications. Operating voltage (VDD-VSS) is from 3 to 12 V, and housing is in 14-pin DIP and SOIC packages. (Contact company for pricing and availability.)
