Available in a 48-pin TQFN package, the MAX3987 quad signal conditioner offers data rates from 1 to 8.5 Gbits/s and can equalize up to 30 in. of FR4 or 10 m of 24-AWG cable at its input and output. Additionally, the device features an I2 C interface for programming the preemphasis, output swing, and output polarity of each channel while external pins can also be used to globally program these features.

Designed as a multiprotocol solution, this device facilitates design migration — suiting it for 6.25-Gbit/s XAUI, 8.5-Gbit/s Fibre Channel, 6.0-Gbit/s SAS/SATA, and InfiniBand DDR links.
