Quarter-brick converter features 504-W models

The iQG series of dc/dc converters now offers 504-W models with an efficiency rating up to 96.3%. Operating from a 48-Vdc nominal input, the quarter-brick series now includes 12-V, 42-A outputs in addition to 300- and 400-W rated parts. The converters suit power-hungry applications in demanding thermal environments.

Using a dual cooling technique (thermal enhancement), the modules deliver 38.5 A (438 W) in ambient temperatures of 55°C with airflow of 400 LFM. With the addition of a 0.5-in. heatsink, it delivers 504 W at 70°C with airflow of 400 LFM. The converter meets the industry standard quarter-brick footprint of 57.9 x 36.8 x 12.9 mm. Accepting an input voltage of 39 to 75 Vdc, these added models maintain an output tolerance of ±210 mV for all input, loading, and temperature variations.
