Quarter-brick dc/dc converter delivers 165 W
Isolated converter module targets datacom, telecom, and power-hungry CPUs and ASICs
The HPQ series is an ultra-high-power quarter-brick, isolated dc/dc converter module that has a 3.3-Vdc fixed output and an output current up to 50 A, providing up to 165 W. It suits datacom and telecom system applications.
The open-frame converter has an industry-standard package measuring 58.4 x 36.8 x 10.2 mm. The module is designed for PCB mounting and is suitable for use from 40 to 85C.
The converter has a voltage input range from 36 to 75 Vdc and has a planar magnetics design that provides magnetic and optical isolation with basic insulation up to 2,250 V. It also achieves 90% efficiency through the use of a synchronous rectifier topology. The converter’s fixed output voltage is regulated to within ±1% and may be trimmed within ±10% of nominal output. Its ripple and noise performance enable the converter to meet the requirements of the latest power-hungry CPUs, ASICs, programmable logic devices, and FPGAs. (From $47.44 ea/large qty available now.)
