The LX7730 telemetry controller IC integrates the required functions for satellite sensor monitoring telemetry systems and interfaces with FPGAs. The chip has 64 analog inputs that can be sampled with a 12-bit A/D converter at up to 25 kHz. The inputs can also function as variable bi-level inputs with the threshold set by an internal 8-bit D/A converter and there is a ±2% accurate adjustable current source.
The IC is register programmable using an 8-bit parallel bus or an SPI interface. It has 1 kV ESD pin protection on all CH pins and 2 kV on all other pins. The chip is radiation tolerant to a minimum of 100 kRad TID, 50 kRad ELDRs, is single event immune, comes in a 132 pin ceramic quad flat package, and has an operating range of -55° to 125°C.
