Radio modem board set gives mobility
The System 200 radio modem board set comprises two boards–a
transmitter/receiver and a modem. The boards are linked by a flex cable
that carries low-frequency signals and direct current. Power requirements
for the board are 7.5 Vdc at 250 mA max. The power is supplied via the
RS-232 connector or by NiCd batteries on board. The output power can be
specified from 2 W to 1 mW, giving a usable range of 2 miles to 10 ft.
Options to 10 W are available. Transceiver operation is narrow-band FM,
set between 450 and 470 MHz with a stability of better than +/-0.0005%.
The receiver has spurious-signal rejection of 60 dB or better. The boards
come with TurboLink 2.0 on EEPROM. This operating system accommodates up
to 48 terminal nodes. It supports the X.30 protocol for intelligent modem
networking with Digital Equipment and IBM hosts, PCs, and LANs. ($465
