The annual Z-DAC 2007 conference from Zuken (www.zuken.com) will be held Nov 5 to 7 at the Daufuskie Island Resort, Hilton Head, South Carolina. This year’s event will feature even more user and third party presentations addressing topics from the wider industry environment down to the details of process and tool optimization.

Held Nov. 7 to 8 at the Radisson Hotel, Newport Beach, CA, the Savant’s SoC conference is an annual event where chip design experts meet for two days of productive discussions on semiconductor advances, the latest CPU/DSP cores, ASIC/SoC design methodologies, EDA technologies, and much more.

Acquisitions

Synopsys (www.synopsys.com )also announced that it has acquired Sandwork Design, a provider of analog and mixed-signal verification solutions. Sandwork’s tools like SPICE Explorer and WaveView Analyzer will add analog and mixed-signal verification capabilities to Synopsys’ portfolio. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

Dassault Systèmes (www.3ds.com), a leader in 3D and product lifecycle management solutions, and recently acquired Seemage (www.seemage.com), a leader in the creation of 3D interactive product documentation. This transaction will enable Dassault Systèmes to provide innovative solutions addressing the growing demand of its customers in the diversified area of product documentation.
