Real-time scopes soar to 30-GHz bandwidth

High bandwidth matched with fast processing and deep, dedicated analysis memory

The WaveMaster 8 Zi family of real-time digital oscilloscopes, serial data analyzers, and disk-drive analyzers lays claim to the world’s highest bandwidth, 30 GHz, as well as the fastest processing speeds: 10 to 100 times faster than previous scopes. The combination of performance, speed, precision, and capability provides engineers with deeper insight, faster debug, and more efficient validation for current, state-of-the-art data communications projects and advanced, future-technology designs.

Real-time scopes soar to 30-GHz bandwidth

Designed as a single hardware platform with upgradable performance and bandwidth from 4 to 30 GHz, the series includes units that can not only capture up to 80 Gsamples/s with >15-GHz edge triggering, but also provide 512 Mpoints of memory dedicated to analysis functions, so as to not compromise acquisition.

The instruments have 15.3-in. 16:9 high-definition touchscreen displays so that lots information can be put on screen without compromising readability. Capabilities previously seen in the Zi line include Eye Doctor signal integrity tools, TriggerScan rare event capture, removable front control panels, 50-Ω and 1-MΩ input capability, and up to 250 Mpoints/s LSIB external data transfer. (Base units, from $59,490 at 4 GHz to $199,490 at 30 GHz — 4 to 16-GHz units available 8 weeks ARO; 20 to 30-GHz versions 26 weeks ARO.)
