Receivers consume little power

The TSOP313, TSOP323, TSOP343, TSOP383, and TSOP393 series of ultra-noise-resistant AGC3 IR remote control receivers feature a supply voltage from 2.5 to 5.5 V with a transmission range of 45 m, a carrier frequency range from 30 to 56 kHz, and a supply current of 0.35 mA. Each receiver includes a photo detector and preamplifier circuit, mounted within a 3-pin epoxy-encapsulated module that acts as an IR filter for improved PCM frequency.

Three industry-standard pin configurations are available, with minimum irradiances of 0.1 mW/m2 and 0.15 mW/m2 . The devices comply with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC. (Call company for pricing and availability.)
