Ref design creates efficient ATX supply

Addressing Energy Star requirements for power supplies used in desktop PCs, the 300-W GreenPoint open reference design enables engineers to create an ATX supply with a full-load efficiency of 86.5% at high-line and 82.5% at 20% of load and low-line. Key devices in the design include the NCP1653 CCM PFC controller, the NCP1562 active-clamp PWM controller, NCP1027 HCV switcher, NCP4330 synchronous post-regulator, and MSR860 power rectifier.

Addressing all functional blocks including PFC, switch-mode control and regulation, post regulation, and standby power, the open ATX reference design also meets IEC61000-3-2 power factor requirements. (Contact Kelvin Tsiang for pricing and availability.)
