Ref designs highlight A/D conversion

Three reference design kits address IF receiver and data acquisition applications. The ADC14DS105KARB low-IF receiver subsystem, the ADC14V155KDRB high-IF receiver, and the ADC083000RB 8-bit 3-Gsample/s data acquisition reference design all use advanced A/D conversion.

The kits provide evaluation of a quadrature direct conversion or near-zero IF receiver for signal frequencies from DC to 40 MHz, as commonly used in WiMAX and WCDMA receiver systems; a high IF receiver using a digital variable gain amp with excellent sensitivity for input signal frequencies up to 240 MHz and a small-signal SNR of 72 dBFS; a data acquisition design using a high-speed differential driver/A/D converter/FPGA that achieves an effective number of bits exceeding 7.0 and SFDR of 53.5 dB, Design files are available at no cost. (Receiver kits, $800; data acquisition kit, $4,900—available now.)
