Reference design
drives LED flash
Addressing demanding compact imaging applications such as in 2+ Mpixel-resolution camera phones, the supercapacitor-based BriteFlash reference design power architecture delivers the pulse power to drive an LED to full light intensity.
Including LEDs, supercapacitors, and circuitry, two solutions are available: a 25-W dual-cell design that requires a 250-mA charge current to yield up to a 3-m flash and a 100-mA single-cell circuit that covers to 1.5 m. (Total package cost, from $4 to $5 ea/10,000available now.)
