Regulator ensures reliable behavior

The MCP1602 2.0-MHz 500-mA switching regulator has a power-good feature that indicates when true voltage regulation is achieved, ensuring reliable system behavior. The regulator provides adjustable and fixed output voltages, as well as auto transition from PWM to PFM modes. It also reduces heat dissipation and extends battery life in a variety of portable handheld electronic devices.

The device has a 45-µA quiescent current and a standby current of 100 nA. It offers an adjustable output voltage range of 0.8 to 4.5 V, a fixed output voltage range from 1.2 to 3.3 V, and an input voltage range of 2.7 to 5.5 V, covering the Li-ion battery voltage range.
