Reliable connectors deliver signal and power to boards

Designed for combined signal and power transmission, two different connector sets eliminate having to choose separate connectors for power and signal, thus simplifying board layouts while delivering reliable, consistent performance. The sets are a compact 5-pin cable-to-board socket and header, and a 40-pin board-to-board header and socket combination. The fi ve pin connectors have two contacts for power and three for signal, the 40 pin connectors have 30 signal and 10 power contacts. All connectors are rated to have no electrical discontinuity greater than 1 µs for 50-G shock and 10 to 2,000 Hz 15-G vibration.

The cable-to-board connector set consists of the 888-30-005-20-002000 board-mount male header and 888-93-005-00-001000 wire termination socket. The header has 3 right-angle through-hole pins for signals and 2 SMT board termination pins for power. The wire termination socket has solder-cup receptacles to accept up to 24 AWG wire on the signal contacts and 20 AWG on the power contacts; power receptacles are rated at 8 A each and signal pins for 4.5 A each. Insulator housings are made from high temperature Nylon 46 plastic.

With a mated height is 0.415 in., the 40-pin board-to-board connectors have a 3×10 array of signal contacts on 0.100-in. centers. The 809-43-040-10-001000 socket has 10 power receptacles, 4 on 0.200-in. centers rated at 11 A each and 6 of 0.150-in. centers rated at 8 A each; signal contacts are rated at 3 A each. The 808-10-040-10-151000 male header is shrouded for protection and rugged applications. Connector housings, polarized for alignment with stand-offs to promote solder flow, are RoHS compliant; the insulator material is high-temperature Ryton.
