Reliance Games Panem Run
Reliance Games’ The Hunger Games: Catching Fire—Panem Run is set up like Temple Run, an endless runner game that lets players zip through all 12 districts of Panem to collect resources and “Sparks” that the Girl on Fire, the story’s protagonist Katniss Everdeen, has left behind. Below you can see a brief trailer for the game:
Similar to Temple Run, users must swipe left and right to move their character in those directions across three lanes, as well as swiping up and down to dodge obstacles put into their path. They can collect power ups like shields and speed boosts, and will also play an archery mini-game, a tribute to Katniss’s main weapon of a bow and arrow, that will appear randomly in each run.
The player will explore more districts the longer they run, and can customize their play by choosing to go either left or right when they come across virtual forks in the road, where each fork leads to a separate district with separate, unique resources.
Lionsgate executives are excited for the newest addition to the Hunger Games franchise, which allows fans of the series the chance to explore the world of Panem, according to Lionsgate Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing Danielle De Palma.
“The game provides an exciting new narrative for the core fans while offering a challenge for players of all skill levels,” added De Palma in a company release.
The game is available for download free of charge on iOS and Google Play.
