Renesas expands ‘Winning Combinations’ solution designs

Renesas Electronics Corp. has extended its Winning Combinations family with 10 new solution designs that feature Wi-Fi 6 and 6E chipsets from recently acquired Celeno Communications, combined with Renesas’ embedded processing, analog, power, timing, and connectivity offerings. These solutions target a range of applications, including IoT, Industrial, and infrastructure.

The Winning Combinations solutions are designed to help engineers speed up their product development cycles and lower their overall risk when bringing new designs to market. As of this announcement, Renesas offers more than 300 Winning Combinations.

The new Winning Combinations include an Industrial Gateway with Wi-Fi 6, which targets fast data transmission for on-field programmable logic controller (PLC) applications and leverages a leading-edge microprocessor (MPU) and a high-performance Wi-Fi 6 chip to drive up to 4.8 Gbits/s PHY/data link speed; and an Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) Solution, which is a high-end Wi-Fi 5 IEEE 802.11ac solution for industrial applications requiring high data throughput and high data accuracy. The AOI solution combines a RZ/V2M microprocessor main board with plugged in Wi-Fi 5 that provides high throughput up to 4800 Mbits/s along with a fast PCIe interface.

Another solution targets Wireless Digital Signage. It is a Wi-Fi connected digital signage solution that combines Celeno Wi-Fi with Renesas’ power devices and the RZ/G2H MPU to connect different displays. It supports displays from HDMI or LVDS connected flat panel displays to LED-based matrix displays.

Other Celeno Winning Combinations target high performance networking, AI, and video applications. They include the following:
