Renesas Electronics Corporation, Murata Manufacturing Co, and Ubiquitous Corporation began technologically developing a high-speed network connection for the IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) marketplace. With advancements of IT, the development of great networking, and cloud computing systems, the IVI marketplace is set to develop and become more complex in the forthcoming years.
Network servicing is in high demand from smartphone users while the automotive environment. IVI will enable users to have the best automotive infotainment experience possible. Rather than the OS (operating system) to embedded systems, newer technologies like IVI, and an OS network (normally used in formation system) will be implemented. Since the all-purpose OS allot time for activation, a timely system start-up is needed for instant display of back camera or fast radio sound output. For users’ optimal experience while having an in-car network service, a Wi-Fi linkup between IVI and the smartphone is necessary. The solution created by Renesas, Murata, and Ubiquitous provides a high-speed activation for advanced automotive systems and Wi-Fi connection.
Most smartphones are compatible with the IEEE802. 11ac will be integrated into the infotainment system of automobiles. Content will be streamed through an efficient network service, and users can see movie contents with Miracast. The IEEE802 will provide users with a system of speedy connection and authentication.
Renesas’ SoC, the “R-Car,” Murata’s Wi-Fi module and driver software, Ubitquitous’ activation solutions and wireless communications have been combined, creating a great network option.
Tatsuya Nishihara, Chief of Automotive Solutions Business Division, Renesas Electronics Corporation said, “providing a technology that integrates smartphones into automotive infotainment systems is one of the most required technologies in next-generation automotive information device market, and is regarded as the top priority solution for Renesas' R-Car business.” Norio Nakajima, Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of Murata Manufacturing Company stated that “As ‘connection’ is expected to be an essential key word in future cars, I am pleased to offering an appealing solution of our connectivity module technology united with Renesas' SoC and Ubiquitous' software.” Murata will continue to contribute to the advancements in automotive technology.
The President of Ubiquitous, Kanji Mahara is “looking forward to offering a new platform solution to the market for the realization of connected car by working with Renesas and Murata, the two major companies that have proven track records in the field of automotive market.” He explained how Ubiquitous will devote its livelihood to high-speed network connections in automotives. Mahara complemented the great performance of Renesas’ and Murata’s efficient hardware.
Each company is thrilled with this technological partnership, and as stated by Nishihara, it “will contribute to the realization of connected car technology.”
