According to research conducted by IHS iSuppli Research, the sales of worldwide motion combo sensors are projected to more than double in the next three years, from $636 million in 2013 – and up from only $6 million in 2008, a growth of nearly 250 times.
Other research conducted by the firm indicates that forecasts for active multiscreen devices on pay TV networks in the United States will nearly double in the next two years, from an anticipated 177.5 million units in 2013 to 256 million units in 2014 and 338.2 million units in 2015. Again, this number reflects a strong surge in a product category that was at a modest 3.9 million in 2009.
