This design provides a reference ZigBee® gateway for IoT lighting applications. Feature-rich, Linux-based Network & GUI applications powered by Sitara™ AM335x processor can control and monitor ZigBee lighting nodes using the SimpleLink™ ZigBee CC2531 wireless MCU. This design includes example applications for local and remote control of ZigBee nodes, including Android (phones/tablets/set top boxes), Java-script for cloud connectivity agents and C-clients.
Features
- SimpleLink ZigBee CC2531-based USB Dongle, running Z-stack ™, a certified golden unit stack implementation of a ZigBee bridge for lighting applications
- Simple API for lighting control, incorporating TCP/IP to ZigBee bridge, enables faster development of applications and easier integration of low-power connectivity solutions
- Uses the Sitara AM335x processor-based BeagleBone Black low-cost, open source, community-supported development platform and a CC2531-based USB dongle
- All system hardware components available via TI's eStore or through authorized distributors and wiki-based user guides also available to generate and compile Linux open-source components
- ZigBee Gateway can be combined with CC2530 ZigBee® Light Link™ Development Kit to build a complete end-to-end ZigBee Lighting development and demonstration platform
- Complete Linux-based system software & hardware implementation for connecting ZigBee sensors to TCP/IP applications via Ethernet, including all application, Linux middleware, ZigBee stack and firmware components
