RF prescaler circuits operate up to 18 GHz

Operating up to 18 GHz, the ADF500x prescalers offer a power consumption in active mode of 30 mA and in power-down mode of 7 mA. The parts are suitable for a variety of applications, including point-to-point radios, VSATs (very small aperture terminals), and microwave communication systems.

In addition, the devices offers integrated RF decoupling capacitors, divide by 2, 4, or 8 options, and a phase noise at 150 dBc/Hz. Housed in 3 x 3-mm LFCSP packages, the prescalers operate on a single dc supply that is 3-V compatible with the company’s offering of PLLs. It is also supported by the free downloadable design tool, the ADISimPLL. ($6.97 ea/10,000 — available now.)
