RF quad modulator offers low power consumption
Housed in a 16-lead VQFN package, measuring only 4 x 4 x 1 mm, the CMX971 quadrature modulator IC can operate over the RF output range of 20 MHz to 1 GHz with a power supply voltage of 3.0 to 3.6 V. The part offers a low power consumption: 7µA in powersave mode, 1.7 mA in bias only mode, and 63 mA in operating mode.
The device can be programmed via a simple serial bus or working in ‘direct control’ mode, which does not require connection to a serial controller. In both modes programmable features include a local oscillator divider ratio (divide by 2 or 4) and linearity vs. noise optimisation.
The part’s quadrature architecture supports a wide range of modulation formats and standards. Also it offers translation from baseband I/Q signals to a modulated RF signal.(Contact company for pricing and availability)
