RF SoC devices suit low-power wireless apps

Designed for low-power and low-voltage wireless applications, the CC2510 and CC1110 RF SoC solutions combine the company’s RF transceivers (CC2500 and CC1101) with an 8051 microcontroller, 8/16/32 Kbytes of in-system programmable flash memory, and 1/2/4 Kbytes of RAM. The 2.4-GHz CC2510 targets wireless keyboard/mouse, wireless gaming, sports equipment, remote controls and wireless voice audio applications, while the sub-1 GHz CC1110 is designed for alarm and security, automatic meter reading, industrial monitoring and control, and home and building automation applications.

Additional features include 300-nA sleep current in lowest power mode, embedded 128-bit AES security coprocessor, and programmable data rate up to 500 kBaud and a supply range from 2.0 to 3.6 V. The part is housed in QLP-36 packages. (ea/1,000; CC2510, from $3.25; CC1110. from $4.30available now.)
