Two free downloadable software tools, the ADIsimRF design tool and the ADIsimPLL version 3.1 development software simplify RF systems design. The ADIsimRF easily calculates a variety of parameters within an RF system including cascaded gain, noise figure, and power consumption. The calculator can be easily switched between transmit mode and receive mode where calculations and data entry are input referred.
The ADIsimPLL assists users in evaluating, designing, and troubleshooting RF systems using the company’s family of PLL synthesizers. In addition, the design tool includes a simulation capability for fractional-n spurious estimation. This feature provides an initial assessment of the amplitude and offset of fractional-n spurs.
