Operating in the 125-kHz frequency range, the MLX90109 RFID transceiver can be used in the design of car immobilizers, portable readers, access control, pet identification, and household appliances. Supply voltage is 3.1 to 5.5 V, and supply current (excluding antenna supply current) is 1.8 V typ at VDD of 5 V.
the chip is available with an evaluation board and a development kit to speed the customer’s development cycle. The transceiver chip is offered in a 0° to 70°C version and a –40° to 85°C version in the industry-standard SO8 package for surface-mount manufacturing. (0.98 euros ea/50,000 — available now.)
