RG coaxial cables are 20% thinner, lighter

The RG line of coaxial cables for aircraft communication and navigation systems are approximately 20% thinner and lighter than standard cables. The RG179 weighs 118 g/m with a 2.18-mm diameter, compared to the standard 160 g/m and 2.54-mm cables. The RG316 is 121 g/m with a 2.07-mm in diameter compared to standard versions that weigh 182 g/m with a 2.49-mm diameter.

The cables offer electrical impedance of 50 and 75 Ω and withstand temperatures from –65° to 150°C. The cables also exceed the electrical requirements of MIL-C-17G and meet requirements for MIL-T-81790 and EN 3475-503. (Contact company for pricing and availability.)
