Rise in MEMS motion sensor sales, increase in pressure sensor shipments

According to research conducted by IHS iSuppli Research, the sales of worldwide MEMS motion sensors in handsets and tablets are projected to increase in the next three years. Sales are expected to reach $2.2 billion by 2016.

Other research conducted by the firm indicates that worldwide shipments of pressure sensors for cellphones are projected to more than quadruple in the next three years, from 162.1 million units in 2013 to 681.2 million units by 2016.
