The Vert-X 22E Series touchless rotary sensors can be programmed by customers — for the slope of the linear output, zero, midpoint, end points, and switch steps — to optimize the angle sensor for their specific application, thus eliminating the need for other parameter-determining components and helping reduce costs. Included Vert-X Easy Adapt PC software lets users program the sensor by choosing among six modifiable linear output curve characteristics; alternatively, units may be factory programmed to user specifications.
The non-contact sensors use a magnetic pick-up secured to the rotating object. The compact (0.866-in.-dia) devices are absolute sensors, and so retain measured values even after power interruptions. Key specifications include 0 to 360° measurement range limits, 14-bit resolution, ≤0.1° repeatability and hysteresis, and MTBF of 2.7 or 5.8 million hours, depending on version. Options include one or two switch outputs, 5- or 24-V supply input, voltage output (10 to 90% of supply voltage), SPI, PWM, and redundant outputs. (Contact Matt Pietro for price and availability.)
