Round smartphone-like gadget offers a different kind of connectivity

What if your next smartphone was round and not really into beeps, ringtones and the constant bombardment of notifications?

Runcible 01

For the past 10 months, a company called Monohm comprised of just three people has been working on a circular version of smartphone called Runcible— the “anti-smartphone.”

The Runcible is modeled on the design of the traditional pocket watch and can fit in the palm of your hand. It includes the basic staples of today’s smartphone like calling capabilities, camera, directions, and even runs on Firefox OS, but eliminates interruptions so you can focus more on the moment and less on your smartphone.

Runcible 02

Runcible is more like a cross between a traditional cellphone and a wearable device.

The Runcible will be available later in the year but no retail price has been confirmed. It is suggested that the cost will be comparable to a regular smartphone purchase.

Visit Runcible's website to pre-order your device.
