RS-485 transceivers are fully isolated

The signal-and power-isolated ADM2587E and ADM2582E surface-mount RS-485/422 transceivers feature an integrated isolated power converter. The devices include a line driver, line receiver, oscillator, rectifier, regulator, and transformers in a 10 x 13-mm WSOIC single-chip package.

The chips have 2.5-kV isolation, ±15-kV ESD protection on bus pins, and 5- or 3.3-V operation at –40° to 85°C. The 2582 has 15-ns max rise and fall times, the 2587 1,100 ns. ($5.50 to $6.50 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
