RTOS improves system reliability

The new version of the Nucleus real time operating system (RTOS) features a process model that lets embedded developers partition their device code and isolate software sub-systems in order to protect against faults that can bring down the entire system. The RTOS is available in three configurations: Source Code: Kernel, drivers and libraries, an integrated Eclipse-based IDE and software trace with the Nucleus ReadyStart edition, and a full-featured binary version optimized for MCU memory size.

The Nucleus software trace technology, built on the embedded Sourcery Analyzer tool, provides greater system visibility, with trace support for middleware stacks, and a common time reference to analyze variables and events across the entire system. There are versions for ARM, ColdFire,  Microblaze, MIPS, NIOS, Power, and SuperH. Starting list price for the source code is $6,000 and a trial version is available.
