RTOS makes use of multicore processors

The version 4.0 release of INtime RTOS for x86 processors runs multiple instances of the system alongside Windows on the same multicore platform. Because multiple operating environments are consolidated into a single platform, embedded system designers can obtain significant cost savings and improved scalability.

The software eliminates the possibility of high-priority real-time processes interfering with one another. Time-critical processes can be fixed to run on their own cores, promoting modular design and removing the difficulty of resolving priorities between deterministic processes. Processes running on separate cores can signal one another in a reliable, deterministic way using shared memory. (Runtime licenses, less than $100 ea/250; development kit, $6,500 — available now.)
