Rugged compute platform uses quad core CPU

The TRAX-5 computing platform is powered by an Atom E3845 quad-core CPU with 2 Mbytes of L2 cache and 2 Gbytes or more of DDR3-1333. It has two mini PCIe slots and two PCI/104 slots. The unit features a 542-MHz graphics core with four execution units, DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, a 32-Gbyte solid-state disk, and a 72-channel GPS engine.

The platform has a crypto acceleration engine, USB 2.0, a VGA with touchscreen interface, 802.11b/g/n long-range Wi-Fi, GSM/GPRS/LTE cellular support, and LTE and mesh network options. The 9.5 x 8.1 x 3.8-in. device takes a 10 to 36-V supply, operates over -40° to 71°C ambient, and has MIL-STD shock and vibration qualification.
