The TCAN1051 CAN transceiver IC meets all EMC standards from U.S. and European automotive manufacturers and features high bus-fault protection and fast CAN flexible data rate (FD) speeds. The device eliminates the need for an external noise-suppressant common-mode choke component.
The SOIC8 packaged IC has HBM ESD protection to ±16 kV, IEC ESD protection to ±15 kV, and bus fault protection to ±58 V, or ±70 V for H variants. Typical loop delay is specified as 110 ns the chip operates at junction temperatures from –55° to 150°C. “V” versions have a secondary power supply input for I/O level shifting. From $0.48 ea/1,000.
