Maybe you need to update Temple Run 2, because Imangi Studios has just released a new update for the popular game that not only adds water slides and new artifacts to find, but new holiday content as well. Now, players can find free additional Christmas content like holly, wreathes, and candy canes while trying to figure out how to stay alive on the new water slides.
Downloading the update will also allow players the opportunity to purchase Santa Claus with premium currency — meaning, actual money and not Temple Run gold — as a limited-time Christmas character. But while the jolly fellow may not be free, collecting the free holiday artifacts will unlock matching Santa hats for all of your other characters. Imangi Studios has turned their most popular app into a whole new holiday experience for the users: you can finally share some of that holiday spirit with your smartphone.

Aside from the holiday bonuses, the update has also added new masks to the app’s artifact system as well as new objectives, so if you thought you had finished up all the game has to offer, think again! Additionally, players will have to dodge water wheels and fallen trees on the new water slides, making this a pretty substantial update by Imangi Studios. There are, of course, still coins to collect on the new slides, in addition to the artifacts and Christmas goodies.
If you have not yet downloaded Temple Run 2 for your smartphone (which means you either don’t have a smartphone or have extraordinarily strong willpower), it is available for free on both iOS and Android devices.
