Ryobi rolls out a garage door opener you never knew you wanted

High-tech garage door opener specially designed to enhance workspace

Ryobi has introduced a garage door opener worthy of its own article.

The company’s new garage door opener is outfitted with all of the things one would expect a garage door opener to have, including multiple remotes, a control panel with passcode functionality, obstacle detection, a belt drive system that’s measured to be approximately 20% quieter than the competition, and smartphone connectivity capability, so that users can open the door with their mobile device, even while away from home.

There’s also the option to have the opener run on a rechargeable battery, for roughly 100 open and close cycles, should there ever be a power outage.

Now, that’s all of its “basic” functions. The door opener becomes truly noteworthy when taking a look at all of its add-on modules (available for an additional cost), all of which are specially designed to add varying degrees of functionality to the device itself. There’s a fan module as well as a carbon monoxide detector module that can be added for passive functionality. Also available is an attachable Bluetooth speaker along with 30-foot-long retractable cord to allow for power tool usage in the middle of the garage space.

The most impressive of the add-on modules, though, has to go to the Park Assist option, which uses a pair of ultra-bright lasers to make it easier to tell if you’ve parked as close as possible to the wall.
