Safety isolator modules free up cabinet space
Single-channel protection devices offer industry’s highest density and keep enclosures cool
Providing intrinsic safety outputs to field devices in hazardous areas and galvanic isolation between field devices and I/O cards, the 12.5-mm-wide HiC family of safety isolator modules can reduce cabinet space requirements by more than 30%. This small size enables, according to the company, unmatched signal density for single-channel devices to support reliable industrial signal transmission and system availability. Additionally, extremely low 0.8-W power dissipation keeps cabinets cooler while increasing module life and system reliability.
SIL 2/3-rated, the modules are attach to 8- or 16-slot termination boards without tools or wiring. Interface circuit boards are equipped with connectors and circuitry that replicate the hardware used in a fully engineered solution for a distributed control system.
Termination boards have HART access, allowing users to diagnose and remotely access field devices at any time through the HART Communication Board. The fault indication board allows for collective error messaging. (Contact Robert Schosker for pricing—available now.)
