SBC handles I/O-rich applications

The Neptune EPIC single-board computer incorporates five PC/104 I/O modules to reduce size and weight for I/O-rich applications. The card is offered with processors ranging from a 500-MHz AMD Geode LX800 to a 1.4-GHz Intel Pentium M738.

The 4.5 x 6.5-in. board uses a standard ETX module interface for the CPU modules and has four USB 2.0 ports, SATA/EIDE disk interfaces, a CompactFlash socket, an IDE Flashdisk interface, 10/100 and GbE Ethernet controllers, six RS-232/422/485 ports, AC’97 audio, keyboard/mouse interfaces, and a PC/104-Plus expansion interface. The SBC comes with 512 Mbytes of 333-MHz DDR to 2 Gbytes of 667-MHz DDR2 RAM on the ETX module and 32 analog inputs with a 250-kHz, 16-bit autocalibration A/D. (From $900—available 2nd qtr.)
