Schurter has upgraded its TA35 series with the TA36 thermal circuit breaker that features a new sculpted rocker switch and bezel. The new series also offers a wider color selection of actuator and bezel colors.
Providing more design choices for designers of commercial and consumer appliances, the TA36 series, available in 31 variants, offers seven rocker actuator colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, black, and white) and three bezel colors (black, grey, and white), which can be mixed or matched. It also provides a selection of five different markings that include I/O and ON/OFF with a choice of black, white, or embossed or no marketing.
The TA36 family is designed as an appliance switch and thermal overcurrent protection device. The thermal circuit breakers are available as a 1-pole switch with overcurrent protection, and a 2-pole switch with 1- or 2-pole overcurrent protection.
The thermal circuit breaker series is available in 31 different rated currents from 0.05 A to 20 A. The operating temperature range is -30°C to 60°C. The units are calibrated at 23°C with correction factor data provided to guide selection in lower and higher ambient conditions.
The series is built to UL 1077 & CSA C22.2.235 and is cURus approved up to 277 VAC, 32 VDC (1-pole)/60 VDC (2-pole). It is also VDE approved at 240 VAC and the same VDC ratings according to IEC 60934. CCC approval is pending.
The TA36 devices are suited for 277 VAC LED lighting applications in the U.S., as well as industrial appliances, HVAC, tools and construction equipment, cleaning equipment, commercial and household appliances, and medical equipment. The TA36 provides snap-in mounting with serrated snappers for a range of panel thicknesses. Quick-connect terminals measure 6.3 × 0.8 mm.
Pricing starts around $7.00 for a 1-pole version in quantities of 100.
