Sealed optocouplers isolate up to 15 kV

Incorporating the company’s Photologic sensor technology, the OPI125/6/7/8 Series optically coupled isolators are capable of up to 15 kV of input-to-output isolation voltage from an hermetically sealed package. The isolators comprise a GaAs-infrared LED coupled to a photodiode, a linear amplifier, and a Schmitt trigger integrated on a single silicon chip.

Applications include industrial, medical, and office equipment, as well as high-voltage electrical isolation circuits in harsh environments. Power dissipation rating is 200 mW. Typical rise and fall time is 70 ns, with typical low-high and high-low propagation delays of 5 µs. ($6.73 ea/25,000—stock to 8 weeks ARO.)
