The MAXQ1010 secure 16-bit microcontroller for USB token and card reader applications integrates a USB transceiver and PHY, RTC, and smart card UART. The IC includes a true random-number generator and high-speed AES and 3DES encryption engines to support secure communication in USB tokens.
The 48-pin TQFN packaged MCU has 128 Kbytes of flash, DC to 12 MHz operation across a 1.7 to 3.6 V supply range, and 33 total instructions, and uses a 6 MHz internal oscillator or 12 MHz external crystal, It takes 6 mA at 12 MHz, and only 400 nA in stop mode while maintaining secure memory and monitoring for tamper events.
